Why are the schools not doing more to prepare teens for transition?
My child has a school counselor. Why do I need you?
Many parents believe that the school counselor system provides sufficient guidance for their teens to be successful in their transitions. Unfortunately in most school systems the counselor is spread across many school priorities, a large number of students and the depth of support is somewhat limited. Their support is too often a list of resources and information that the teen should seek out on his or her own.
P4 – Plan for the Future workshops complement the counselor’s role by providing guidance for what needs to be done and support and nurturing of the tasks at hand. We help teens discover their interests, strengths, skills and aspirations and develop the tools that will help direct their future, proving useful when selecting schools, careers or jobs.
My child is not going to attend college. Why do I need your program?
Everyone has their own unique roadmap in life. P4 – Plan for the Future helps teens discover their interests, strengths, skills and aspirations and develop the tools that will help direct their future including admission to vocational and technical schools or employment.
My child is in 9th grade. Why do I need your program?
9th Grade is a great time for teens to begin defining a “path” for post-high school opportunities. A P4 – Plan for the Future workshop can help your child take inventory of their skills, experiences, strengths and interests and begin to formulate their plan for their future. The discoveries they make about themselves will aid them with course selection, as well as applying for employment or internships while in high school.
Why does a 12 year old need a Student Resume?
If your child will be one of hundreds applying for entrance to a high school that has a competitive selection process, the P4 – Plan for the Future workshop will help your teen stand out from the rest by:
Developing a Student Resume
Preparing a Student Achievement Portfolio (BRAG Book)
Building confidence for the in-person interview
& visitation
Discovering innate strengths and talents and what can
become highly transferable to their next situation
Can you help my child find a job?
We are not an employment service, but P4 – Plan for the Future workshops will help your teen:
Develop a Student Resume
Prepare a Student Achievement Portfolio (BRAG Book)
Build confidence for the in-person interview
Discover innate strengths and talents and what can
become highly transferable for employment
How long are your workshops?
The P4 – Plan for the Future core workshops are 4 hour courses. Our supplemental workshops are 90 minutes each. We work with each organization that hosts our program to tailor the courses into segments that work for them.
When and where are your workshops held?
P4 – Plan for the Future workshops are hosted by various organizations and held in different locations. We are working on finding places where we can conduct the program in the community. Contact us for more information at info@us2training.com.
Why is group interaction so important? Does it really work?
Ultimate Success 2 chose proven techniques to match the style of instruction to the teen learner’s needs and the content presented. A major benefit of the workshops is the face-to-face interactions teens experience with one another. When designing the workshops, three types of "interactions" were considered:
teen interaction with course content
teen interaction with fellow teen participants
teen interaction with the instructor
Do you provide SAT/ACT prep?
No we do not. Our signature program is called P4 – Plan for the Future. We assist teens between the ages of 12 and 17 build the foundation for their future success. The foundation begins with helping them discover their unique skills, strengths, talents, interests and experiences and understand how these skills and experiences transfer to the “real world”. P4 workshops demystify the application process and help participants create tools that will help them now and throughout their future, as well as develop the aptitude to discuss and articulate their skills and accomplishments.

Do you provide tutoring services?

We do not provide career guidance per se but assist teens in creating the tools that are the foundation for achieving their educational and career goals.
Teens in transition have many important decisions facing them and we believe that by starting at an early age, teens benefit from establishing structure and vision for their future giving them focus and stability.
The P4 – Plan for the Future program was created to address the needs of teens during these critical decision points. P4 helps them design a roadmap that matches their vision, values, strengths and aspirations directing them to a successful future.

Are you a “Life Skills” or “Career Coach”?
We are teaching skills for a lifetime, but not in the traditional sense of a “Life Skills or Career Coach.”
The definition of “Life Skills” is - The skills necessary for successful living that fall into 6 main areas: self, family, job, community, leisure and spirituality. Life Skills coaches are mainly employed in settings where people who are struggling with dysfunctional behaviors can be found.
Why are the schools not doing more to prepare teens for transition?
The fact is school counselors are simply overwhelmed by their case load and helping to plan your child’s future is just one small part of their job. More often than not, they provide you with lists, websites and books on the subject then leave it up to the student & parent to find their way. The goal of P4 – Plan for the Future workshops is to complement the counseling services provided by school guidance professionals and educational consultants.
